Today’s hacks are meant to give you other options to store your clothes other than traditional hangers. These tips will help you gently store your clothes, shoes, and even accessories so you can enjoy them for years to come.
Let’s face it, clothes are expensive. What used to cost us a few dollars for a pair of jeans now requires a small loan to buy a fashionable pair.
When you spend so much on the things you wear, it is important to store them in a way that will help your clothes to last.
Work to keep less things so you can free up more space in your closet. You can incorporate a few tips from the pros, like the 333 rule.
What is the 333 closet rule?
The 333 closet rule is a popular minimalism tip that suggests wearing no more than 33 items of clothing, shoes, and accessories in your closet over 3 months. This can help declutter your space by removing items that are rarely if at all, worn.
What is included in the 333 rule:
- Clothes
- Shoes
- Outerwear
- Accessories that are not worn daily
What is not included in the 333 rule:
- Pajamas
- Undergarments
- Daily worn jewelry, such as a wedding ring
A bonus of using this approach is you become more aware when you are shopping because it encourages you to purchase only what you truly need.

- Shelves – You can have a shoe shelf on the floor for each category of shoes, or if you have the room, one large shoe shelf to hold them all.

Organizing Hacks for Sportswear
Whether you’re an avid gym goer or just like to stay active, organizing your sportswear can be a cinch when you have the right tools for your space.
- Hang it up – Use hooks to hold the things you routinely use.
- Baskets – If you have a lot of sportswear, you can use baskets to hold like items. A basket for leggings, one for sweatshirts, and one for tank tops, for example. Use labels so, you know what belongs where.
- Pocket organizer – A hanging shoe pocket organizer works great for leggings and t-shirts.
- Shelf dividers – This is my new favorite closet tool is these plastic shelf dividers because they work for solid shelving and wire shelving. This is an easier way to keep things neat on a closet shelf.

I have organized my faux jewelry with clear flat containers with tops that lock but not with a key!! I’ve stacked them on my dresser. This was diffinately the best thing for me!! So easy to get what I want and to decide on what to wear that day. Of course I’ll have an idea when I get to my accessories already. All my accessories I own are many in purses, scarves, perfume etc. but I have everything organized by collections so it’s easy to manage My closet is well organized as well by slleeve length for blouses and skirt length etc. then by light to dark including colors by ROYGBIV for rainbow order. My prints are organized by background color. I change out my closet Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter with the help of my friend because I’m disabled. I never could have even set up my closet without my best friend!! Praise the Lord Jesus for true Christian friends!!!
